I Must Forget

How can I ignore it–

The grappling fear,

The paralyzing silence

That burns my throat dry?

How can I ignore it–

The constant desire to leave

This strange world

That makes my eyes cry?

It’s absolutely agonizing to feel yourself fall

Further into darkness–

Learning toward the light.

Yet I must forget it

And climb aimlessly

To the shining stars;

I promise you I won’t go far.

Hello! My name is Heather. I'm sixteen years old and I love to write (poems mostly) but I'm working on some story- and novel-writing. Writing is a creative outlet for me.
