People say
The human race is some sort of
Creature
Bound to destroy itself
Consider this
The world goes on and on, but we are them still…
Thirteen glowing faces Eyes that search for love
Twenty-six eyes searching for prey Those creatures live
Two green eyes searching the world In this wicked life
Focused on the day We are them, so strong, but weak
Blue, green, amber, or gray Yet flail like fishes on land
Like predators of the sea, we breathe
So far, this was the hardest assignment in Writing 201 for me.
These were the main points I wanted to make in my poem:
- The first few lines are just supposed to be in regular format. It kind of helps to have a text that summarize the jumble of ideas in the concrete portion.
- The circular part poem is supposed to go in any direction: Right to left, top to bottom, bottom to top, etc.
- I tried to make a circle to show that even though we (as humans) like to see animals as very different from us, they aren’t.
- I kind of feel like I’m revisiting the Lion King with the circle of life, but that’s kind of what it is. We have so many similarities to animals, and we all function together. The circular shape portrays that.

Writing From My Window 
You really thought about this one, didn’t you! I have been going around the circle, in both directions, and I realise that this truly is art. It leads the eye as a good painting should. It also makes an important ecological and ethical statement. You have created something really significant here. I wonder how many can see it? It needs a larger audience. I have been writing all of my life,I’m 60 years old. I’m pretty good, but I would be proud if I had created this..
