Room

Sudden jumble

A hospital room and snow;

What a strange combination.

“Here’s my chance to feel at home,”

I decide to sit alone.

To watch the snow

Blow

Past this artificial, foggy window;

Cover the stones in the–how ironic–

Graveyard.

I look around

Beautiful smiles light up their eyes

Countered by

Some dull glow in their skin

But I can see how strong they are

Just by the state they’re in.

We were the snow

That fell

That night in the room.

As I realized

How I

Was wearing thin.
