Hello! I apologize for not posting that much lately. As you may have heard from my previous posts, I am participating in Camp NaNoWriMo. The goal of this “camp” is for the writer to set their own word count goal to meet in a month. My goal word count is 25,000. I am currently at 17,597 words…6 more days left to write!
It makes me happy that I will be able to meet this goal. If I write a little more than 1,000 words per day, I can hit 25,000 by May 1.
Something that has been irking me deeply is the fact that working toward a word count makes my writing suffer, especially since I only have a month to write 25,000 words. I’m writing in first-person as well, which can be a chore. For anyone thinking about writing in first-person for your first novel, it’s not too fun! 😦
After the month is over, I will edit the novel as thoroughly as I can, and I will publish chapter by chapter on here as well as on my Wattpad (http://www.wattpad.com/user/Musicislovex).
Does anyone have any advice for writing in first person? My main problem is the repetitive “I’s” and lack of description.
